Minneapolis Parks

Minneapolis, MN

HKGi has been collaborating with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) on planning and design projects since 1998. Projects include neighborhood and community park renovations at Lake Calhoun, Parade Stadium, Victory, Keewaydin, Cedar Field, Levin Triangle, Peavey, Stewart, Armatage, Bottineau, and East Phillips Parks. These projects incorporated stakeholder based design processes that resulted in new park features ranging from playgrounds and trails to new sports fields and sustainable parking lots.

Other unique MPRB planning and design projects include the Lake Harriet Pathway to Peace which integrates public art as a means of connecting the East Harriet neighborhood with the Lake Harriet Peace Garden, and the 2008 study of the gap in the Minneapolis Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway known as the Missing Link.
