Island Station Master Plan

Saint Paul, MN

The Island Station Master Plan re-envisions this former power plant site as a residential location that also serves as a recreational gateway to the Mississippi River. The plan calls for a boat launch, trail connections to the river, and a National Park Service facility located on site. Public space amenities also include open play lawns, an amphitheatre, and a plaza.
In keeping with the City's "More Urban, More Natural, More Connected" vision for the riverfront, the master plan also emphasizes natural storm water treatment processes and riparian edge restoration. The Island Station Master Plan combines public and private uses to create an active living destination on the Mississippi River.
