Hobbies and Pastimes
Jason is a long distance runner who has completed more than forty marathons and has recently begun participating in ultramarathons, which sometimes take as much as 36 hours to complete! He and his family also have three dogs and three cats to keep him busy when he isn’t running.
Jason Zimmerman AICP
Jason has twenty-five years of experience in community planning and urban design and provides service on comprehensive and land use planning, zoning ordinance updates, day-to-day consulting planning, and other community planning initiatives that can benefit from his experience and knowledge of community development and design. His experience includes serving as a municipal planning manager and a research fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Design Center for the American Urban Landscape.
Jason grew up in a small town, has lived in a city, and has worked in a suburb, which enables him to provide meaningful perspectives for a variety of planning contexts. He recognizes the ways in which the physical design of a place can shape and influence human behavior. Jason also brings a particular interest in analyzing zoning codes and shaping or re-shaping them so they will achieve the goals of the client.
