HKGi is a long-standing landscape architecture, urban design and community planning firm based in Minneapolis. We primarily work with public sector clients at a variety of scales, providing planning and design services for urban districts, streetscapes, parks, trails, community and neighborhood projects. HKGi is seeking a creative, energetic and experienced landscape architect/landscape designer to join our team of Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, and Planners.

Essential Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support urban and site design efforts through all stages of the design process.
  • Work independently and with internal and external teams.
  • Create presentation materials and communicate to broad audiences.
  • Conduct and support community engagement.
  • Construction document production and assembly.


  • Masters or Bachelors in Landscape Architecture.
  • Licensure or pursuit of licensure as a landscape architect.
  • 3-8 years of experience working in similar environments.
  • Great communication skills (verbal and representational).
  • Ability and confidence with creative design solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current site design standards (SITES, LEED, BMPs) and conventions.
  • Proficient with CAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), MS Office Suite.

‘Nice to Have’ Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Lumion/Enscape, SketchUp
  • Experience with Civil 3D and ArcPro/GIS
  • Experience with construction administration and bidding processes
  • Experience with public sector clients
  • Experience with community engagement
  • Great writing skills
  • Multiple languages
