Lock and Dam Road No. 2 is the key stretch of roadway running through the Hastings River Flats. This streetscape project involved rebuilding the mile-long roadway to include decorative streetscape elements, bicycle trail facilities, a decorative overlook and contaminated soils handling. This phase of the project was completed in 2001 and was awarded the Project of the Year Award by the Civil Engineering Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Public Works Association.
