Faribault Energy Park is located in Faribault, Minnesota, adjacent to Interstate 35, just 30 minutes south of the Twin Cities. The project entails the expansion of an existing power plant facility into one of the most unique and innovative power generation and educational facilities in the region. The clean energy producing facility will encompass newly created wetlands and ponds that are vital components to the recycling and cleaning of steam generation turbines. The wetland areas will provide the community with an interpretive park complete with wind, hyro-electric and solar demonstration elements. The mission of the demonstration park will be to educate and inform the general public about energy production and the environment.
Hoisington Koegler led a multi-disciplinary team in the master planning and design of general site arrangement and park features. The project has been well received by the community and has recently had its Grand Opening on October 6, 2007.
