Casa della Pantera is located along the scenic Mississippi Riverway near Pepin, Wisconsin. The 50-acre site possesses commanding views of Lake Pepin and the surrounding wooded hilltops, reminiscent of the Tuscan landscape. The existing house was built in a traditional Tuscan style with stained stucco walls, low-pitched tile roofs, and fortress-like windows. HKGi provided site design for the areas adjacent to the house. The concept was to design a traditional enclosed Tuscan Villa garden around the house. HKGi worked closely with the client to establish and design a series of outdoor rooms, each with a relationship to rooms inside the house. The challenging hillside site was handled with a combination of site walls, terraces and formal staircases. The plan includes a swimming pool, garden house, pergola, water features, stone plazas, bocce court, formal entry gate and perimeter security walls.
