Greg is a landscape architect/planner with 26 years of experience as a consulting planner/landscape architect, municipal planner and park and recreation director. He applies exemplary leadership qualities and public facilitation skills to establish trust and build a sense of shared interest amongst project participants. Prior to becoming a Principal with HKGi, Greg established his own planning firm known for its high-quality work and its hands-on assessment approach. He has built his professional reputation on his ability to use public opinion surveys, focus group sessions, design charrettes and other interactive methods to gauge a community’s needs, desires and concerns. He translates that input into the foundation for creative and practical design solutions, and also uses it to find common ground on which to build a community consensus for public and private sector initiatives.
His park and land use planning expertise is demonstrated in successful projects such as Victory Memorial Parkway Master Plan, Pathway to Peace Public Art, the Red River Greenway, and the Dayton Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code.
Greg has a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Masters in Business Communication from St. Thomas University. He teaches land use planning and site design at the University of Minnesota.
