During the summer of 2008, the MPRB asked HKGi to master plan their heavily used Parade Baseball Field near the Walker Art Center. Currently the ballfield has minimal bleacher seating, plenty of parking, and few built support structures. The center field fence is a challenging 440 feet, rivaling many MLB fields. The teams who are home to this field desire a shorter outfield fence and a shorter backstop to increase game speed and excitement. The field is maintained very well and is surprisingly used for more than 200 games in a season.
HKGi prepared a master plan for the field, surrounding area, and parking lot. Augsburg College uses this Parade Field as their home field, and suggested additional features to suit their needs and the needs of the many other teams. The plan includes a grandstand with a classic brick and iron façade, new dugouts, a maintenance building, a pavilion, plaza and, a Miracle Field. There are many areas to view the game, including grandstand seating, accessible seating, fan decks, patios, and lawns. When players and fans alike visit Parade Field they will experience a classic baseball atmosphere.
