In order to make way for the future Highway 212, the new athletic complex was constructed on 18 acres of land which was formerly a residential neighborhood. The new athletic complex includes two softball fields, two soccer fields, a six lane track with a football/soccer field inset, eight tennis courts and other stations for track and field events.
Site constraints, land preparation delays, major utility relocations, and challenging soil conditions led to the need for diligent and creative design solutions. HKGi met the challenge by maximizing the potential of the site through its design, working very closely with MN/DOT and utility companies and proposing innovative solutions to soil correction.
