Andrews Park is a 44-acre highly active and popular park in Champlin, and home to several athletic and recreational associations within the community. The existing building facilities no longer met increased program needs, prompting the City to hire HKGi to develop an overall park master plan.
HKGi developed several concept scenarios in collaboration with City staff, refining them into a preferred master plan concept incorporating a new concessions building with ADA restroom facilities, picnic shelter, renovation of the existing program/storage building, a new splash pad area, improved and expanded parking areas, and an improved trail system. HKGi worked with the City on implementation strategies and detailed cost estimates to ensure the plan ideas fit within the capital planning priorities of the City. HKGi also assisted City staff with grant proposal writing for Andrews Park.
