As part of the Downtown Master Plan for the City of Hutchinson, HKGi developed a Corridor and Streetscape Master Plan to serve as a tool to help guide the future efforts to revitalize downtown Hutchinson. Working with the City and local business owners, the plan focuses on identity and entry into the downtown, traffic flow, parking and relationships between buildings, pedestrians and automobile traffic. The study identified numerous unique streetscape types and organized them to work exclusively with redevelopment patterns and design guidelines for specific districts within the downtown from historic Main Street redesign to the creation of a new parkway along the Crow River.
