The City of Woodbury retained HKGi to assist in preparing the 2030 update of its Comprehensive Plan. This project afforded a unique planning opportunity. HKGi helped the City undertake a broad update and revision of its Plan in 2000. This latest update allows us to review what has worked and how the Plan needs to Woodbury to achieve its vision for 2030. The Comprehensive Plan Update places a particular focus on sustainability. Issues related to sustainability are addresses in each chapter of the Plan. As part of this project, HKGi will also be preparing a major updating of the City's 1989 parks and trails plan.
Community input shows that parks and trails form critical elements of quality of life for Woodbury residents. HKGi will work with the City to determine the best use of existing facilities and how to meet the needs of future growth and population changes. A challenge of this project will be coordinating and integrating the results of other planning studies. Specific planning studies have created technical information and community guidance on certain aspects of community development.
