HKGi designed the Southwest Cambridge Master Plan for MetroPlains Development as part of a proposal to redevelop a former state hospital site near downtown Cambridge. The 80+-acre development, Heritage Greens, features single-family and multi-family residential units along with a senior housing campus. A central green and future community center will lie at the heart of the development. The single-family homes on the eastern edge of the project area will mesh with the adjacent traditional downtown neighborhoods by featuring traditional-style homes on small lots with garages in back served by alleys.
